An Expression of Interest has been published on the website of the Municipality of Tricase (LE) to participate in the pilot demonstration activities of the Project "Food4Health - Sustainability and innovation of agri-food and fishery supply chains to facilitate SMEs' access to the cross-border market", in order to identify, among the participants, the Contractor of the Community Laboratory - Food4Health Community Lab.
The Food4Health Community Lab is configured as a centre for the processing and transformation of local raw materials produced by small producers and micro-SMEs in the South of Salento, a place where services of incubation of start-ups and requalification of production chains in depressed areas are implemented, with the ultimate aim of increasing the added value of local production, improving the quality of production and making innovation appreciated both in the local and cross-border markets.
Participants in the expression of interest will take part in demonstration/training activities focusing on processing and transformation techniques of primary products, in compliance with standards identified during the project and with EU regulations.
It is foreseen that, at the end of this demonstration-pilot phase, the participants will present a Sustainable Management Plan, aimed at running the Laboratory, through a five-year concession contract.
The Community Laboratory will be entrusted to the legal entity (Managing Body) that operates on a non-profit basis and has presented the most deserving Management Plan.
